Wildlife Diary

The Loch Melfort area abounds with diverse mammals, birds, marine life, insects, flora and fauna and many of our guests delight in telling us their wildlife sightings.

Perhaps you've seen a golden eagle riding the thermals, dolphins jumping through the waves, or a rare orchid hiding in the grass. Saw two herons today (5.30am and 6pm) flying over. Also saw three buzzards soaring.

Saw porpoise a few metres from the boat in the sound of Luing.

Saw lots of seals on the shore of Lunga while on a Seafari boat.
